Insurgent Brand Hunt Update #6

This update brings you 40 very interesting brands 🎉🎉 The IBH coverage now stands at 370 brands. Keep an eye on IBH, some new stuff coming through soon.

Here are some highlights of the update:

  • Whiskey and vodka join the gins in the insurgent bar. - Kamet and Rahasya are the new entrants.
  • Dark chocolate is the next speciality coffee. Amul is a standout incumbent in the category, but many bean-to-bar brands, tree-to-bar brands are ready to take-off.
  • Infinite niches for sauces, dips and condiments brands - handmade, artisanal, gourmet, name it. Is finding a niche enough to build a long-lasting brand? We'll see. That said, do to try out some of the interesting ones on the list.

What does Clubhouse, Twitter Spaces have to do with insurgent brands? Audio, social networks are surfacing many communities, interests and sub-cultural trends - cooking, pet parenting to Mahabharata and more. Sure these communities exist on FB, Reddit etc., but it was hard to find them and de-clutter. The audio makes it easy for people to participate, express themselves, and join a group. So what's in it for brands? One, you discover interesting insights at the intersection of culture and consumer need. Two, it's better to build engagement with an existing community rather than creating a new one. Keep an eye on these audio networks. Also, Discord, but we will talk about it in the next update.
